Our Story

Since we opened our doors in 1992, our mission has always been simple - to make an uncompromising effort in serving the highest quality food with the freshest and finest ingredients. Colorado's is not just a name, everything at our Sanford restaurant is high country inspired - from our decor, and menu item names, to our fresh, never frozen beef sourced from Colorado and Wyoming and potatoes grown by local farmers in Idaho. As Colorado's became a local household name as one of the best restaurants in Sanford, we have never wavered on our original traditions. In 2018, we were honored to be named the best steakhouse in Seminole County.

In Memory, Dwayne K. Pratt

Dwayne Pratt always had a dream of opening and operating his own restaurant and in 1992 he did just that. Colorado's Prime Steak was his life's work, and his pride and joy. For many of those that had the honor of meeting Dwayne, you could sense his compassion, and care for those that were close to him.

For those that have worked at Colorado's, Dwayne was not only a boss, but a father figure, confidant, and friend. He treated his employees like his own children, constantly pushing them to strive for greatness and succeed.

Colorado's Prime Steak's success is a testament to his hard work, dedication, admiration for the culinary art, care and compassion. His legacy lives on everyday through his friends, family, staff and our establishment.

Dwayne Kreis Pratt is survived by his daughter - Emily Pratt, son - Kelly Pratt, Wife - Gigi Pratt and countless friends and family.
